As part of March Reading Month, SLACK students visited area schools and read Curious George Visits the Dentist to second grade students. Students then received a tooth care kits with toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. Thank you to these terrific students for sharing their time and thank you to Copper Shores and the NMU Center for Rural Health for providing funding for the kits! (Pictures are from the visit to L'Anse.)
SNOW CAN'T STOP US! The CCISD CTE Construction Trades team broke ground on the new home build project Monday morning in Houghton. We'll be providing plenty of updates as progress continues, but the next stage will be a have a little less action as Bay Electric and UPPCO work to help deliver power to the site.

🚘 Thank you to Michigan Tech University's Husky Motors for the donation of a 2015 and a 2016 Dodge Caravan to the Copper Country ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center. CTE Automotive Technology program students and their instructors will inspect, diagnose, and repair the vehicles to make them road-worthy once again.

We were thrilled to welcome Computer Science Consultant Cheryl Wilson from the Michigan Department of Education earlier this week at the Computer Science Strategic Planning Workshop.
The workshop utilized the Strategic CSforAll Resource & Implementation Planning Tool (SCRIPT) to guide district teams on computer science education implementation. REMC1 and the Western UP MiSTEM Network have been assisting our local schools with CS integration since 2019 and started utilizing SCRIPT in the 2021-22 school year.
